MUDA, one of Africa’s largest crypto Over the Counter (OTC) desks, is launching a new Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection called Afro Kingz. The collection is inspired by the rich history and culture from various African tribes and pre-colonial kingdoms. It will showcase over 15,000 hand drawn and programmatically generated artistic pieces, designed by renowned artists in the crypto sphere.
MUDA Director, Suleiman Murunga said,
“An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger called a blockchain that certifies any digital file to be unique. It uses a cryptographic process to authenticate each digital file by providing a digital signature that is used to track NFT ownership. NFTs can be issued to digitally represent various items such as art, music, collectibles, property and so on.”
This project will provide collectors with a unique opportunity to be a part of the Afro Kingz metaverse experience. The collection consists of Masks that come from different African tribes and kingdoms mixed with various accessories and print patterns in order to create a mix of game avatars, collectables and rare items.
“Through the gamification of this NFT collection, users will attempt to trade their way to acquiring a full Kingdom. A kingdom is a set that has NFTs from the different layers of the hierarchy which will consist of at least 1 Royal, 2 chiefs, 20 council members and 50 soldiers. Thereafter, successful collectors will be entered into a battle royal style competition in which they will have a chance of attaining the ultimate prize in the Afro Kingz Universe,”
Murunga added.
The NFT drop will be conducted on the MUDA website and the items will be hosted on the Ethereum network on the 24th of November.
MUDA’s proven track record consists of a successful collaboration with the Uganda National museum and Binance to create a collection of their historical artefacts that was displayed during the launch of the Binance NFT marketplace, earlier this year.
